Simple home upgrades that make a big impact
You do not need a renovation to fall back in love with your home. These are the easy, affordable updates we see make the biggest difference, in our own homes and on our listings:
- Swap one light fixture. A semi-flush mount or milk glass chandelier changes a room in an afternoon.
- Add sconces without an electrician. Rechargeable and battery sconces add warm light anywhere.
- Light the front of the house. A dusk-to-dawn wall lantern, solar path lights and uplights on the trees.
- Update the house numbers. Modern numbers make the front door look new.
- Replace the kitchen faucet. A black pull-down faucet makes the whole sink area feel current.
- Organize the pantry and drawers. Glass canisters, woven baskets and drawer cubbies.
- Layer in the little things. A candle, a soft throw, white napkins and a coffee table book.

For home sellers
How we prepare homes for sale
When we list a home, we focus on what buyers notice first: warm, updated lighting; curb appeal that still looks beautiful after dark; a kitchen that feels fresh; and organized, uncluttered rooms. Many of the products on this page are the same simple, affordable upgrades we install before a listing goes live, chosen to photograph well and help buyers picture themselves at home.
The holidays are typically a quieter time in real estate, but if you are thinking about selling, now is the time to reach out to us. We will walk through your home and build a preparation plan around it.
